There are many reasons to switch from the traditional land line to a new and improved VOIP phone. The most prominent reason is the cost, of course. It’s been the quest for every consumer, whether for business or personal use, to be after the best possible deal on their telephone service. Well this is it. Using the Internet allows Voip providers to offer a lot more with their service, and a lot more calling, without the same kind of overhead costs. Voip technology does not require telephone poles on your local street, or any leasing of lines of such. The infrastructure of the Internet, and the ability to transmit data from one place to any other at high speeds, is already there, and has been fine tuned for many years now.

What about my local phone listings?

What about my 911 service, I heard people saying if you get a voip phone, or a digital phone, you wouldn’t be able to dial 911, I have health problems that scares me!

You have nothing to be worried about! These are issues of the early stages of VOIP technology that have been solved on most all providers and services for all areas. If it is a life and death matter for you, you should always double check from the horses mouth with the service you end up with, just to be safe.
Voip technology was something that was kept behind the scenes for a little while, but has actually been in operation for many years now. Since it’s been around long enough now, it’s been through all kinds of tests and upgrades.

An excellent advantage to Voip services, especially for businesses and security regarding sensitive information and communications, VOIP affords many new possibilities for securing communications, as well as integrating other features such as video and platform portability.
